SPARK Launches to support the Sophomore Experience

Sophomores attended a new program called SPARK this week, SOPHOMORE PROFESSIONAL AWARENESS & READINESS KICKSTART which supports the Sophomore experience at Washington College. Sophomores had an opportunity to attend a Sophomore Mixer on Monday and Career Development meetings later in the week. The meetings and social events are specifically tailored to where Sophomores are in terms of their development at the college. Sophomores were also introduced to important topics like Externships and Major selections. Externships will launch on Friday, September 27 on this website under the opportunities tab. There all students, including Sophomores, can apply to attend an Externship in January. An Externship is a 1 – 3 day observational or shadow experience that introduces students to different kinds of work. It is as important for students to understand what they don’t like as much as it is to embrace what they do like from these experiences. These and other experiential opportunities help students and mainly Sophomores gain insights into their major choice come spring and the Majors & Minors Fair. #SPARK #washingtoncollege #Careerdevelopment #wac #washingtoncollegecareerdevelopment #Sophomores #residentiallife #peermentors
