Junior - Let's get you connected!

Junior Year: Prepare & Connect ACCESS ALL THE TOOLS FROM CLASS HERE @ this link.
Your junior year is a pivotal time to prepare for summer opportunities, gain hands-on experience, and start planning life after Washington College. At the Center for Career Development (CCD), we partner with faculty to deliver tailored classroom programming that helps you connect what you’re learning to the skills and work you’ll use after graduation. Using research and tools from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), we provide real-time insights into hiring trends across industries. Our resources are designed with Washington College’s 32 majors and 45 minors in mind, ensuring your academic journey translates into career value.

Many departments collaborate with the Career Center throughout the year to bring career education into the classroom during Junior Seminars. These sessions give you the chance to identify the skills most relevant to your future career path while capturing professional stories that showcase your academic and experiential achievements. Juniors are also encouraged to participate in January Externships, attend alumni and industry panels, and take on leadership roles in student organizations and campus life to strengthen their professional development.

Here are some tools to help you prepare and develop key skills and competencies:

NACE, National Association of Colleges & Employers Career Competencies & Readiness

Hiration: resume & cover letter builder, job posting comparison, mock interview practice

LinkedIn VoiceThread Kit to elevate your profile and make a digital presence and stay connected
