Students of color are uniquely positioned to take on the professional world because of their varied experiences and perspectives. They benefit from connecting with the career staff early and often. Navigating careers and seeking employers who value people from diverse backgrounds is critical and the team at the career center wants to make sure students are equipped with the skills to spot affirming employers and develop the professional skills needed in a career.  Internships, externships, leadership roles, engagement in campus clubs and organizations help with skill development as well as clarifying interests and values as they relate to career pathways.
