RiverArts’ vision is growing community, creativity and connection through the Arts. Our mission to support this vision is to foster the exploration and development of our audiences’ creative lives while providing a bridge to the greater art world; and use the universal experience of creativity to bring together people from diverse rural communities across Kent County and the Eastern Shore to build connection and to encourage understanding. The RiverArts Intern is an important member of our team and works closely with professional staff to gain practical work experience in leadership, special events, fundraising, marketing, communication, and program administration. The Intern reports to the Arts Education Coordinator. The internship period start and end dates are negotiable, and the schedule is subject to the intern’s availability. Although some in-person hours are required, a portion of the internship can be completed remotely.
A RiverArts internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, creative educational community and work with accomplished professionals in a mutual learning and knowledge sharing environment. Class and studio access is offered as a benefit to interns as well as reduced or complimentary class and program fees. RiverArts will work with applicants seeking educational credit for the internship or who wish to apply for grant funding to subsidize their hours.
RiverArts believes that diversity and inclusion are essential to fulfilling its mission. We want the RiverArts experience to include varied ideas, world views, and personal characteristics. RiverArts is committed to being a community that welcomes and respects everyone regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, race, religion, philosophical or political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, nationality, geographic origin, and socioeconomic status. We are committed to providing an environment free of discrimination.
