Position Overview
Ferreira Construction is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to lead the successful execution of civil and/or electrical infrastructure projects.
The Project Manager is fully accountable for project performance — including safety, schedule, budget, quality, client satisfaction, and team leadership. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through closeout, managing internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships to ensure alignment with company objectives.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to drive operational excellence and project profitability within a growing national contractor.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
– Lead all phases of project delivery from contract award through final closeout.
– Develop and manage comprehensive project execution plans.
– Establish project schedules, staffing plans, procurement strategies, and resource allocation.
– Ensure alignment between estimating assumptions and field execution.
– Drive accountability across project teams to meet safety, quality, and performance standards.
Financial Management & Cost Control
– Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
– Oversee preparation and submission of owner pay applications.
– Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
– Lead change order development, negotiation, and execution.
– Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect project margins.
– Ensure projects are delivered within prescribed funding parameters.
Client & Stakeholder Management
– Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
– Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and performance delivery.
– Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, cost, and risk.
– Address and resolve project challenges in a timely and professional manner.
Subcontractor & Vendor Oversight
– Negotiate and administer subcontracts and purchase agreements.
– Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
– Coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain schedule and quality standards.
– Promote strong vendor relationships to support long-term procurement strategy.
Field Coordination & Safety
– Partner closely with superintendents and field leadership to ensure efficient jobsite operations.
– Monitor jobsite progress to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
– Reinforce company safety culture and compliance with all federal, state, and municipal regulations.
– Support production planning and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
Risk Management & Problem Resolution
– Perform ongoing risk assessments related to schedule, cost, safety, and scope.
– Proactively identify and resolve project issues before escalation.
– Implement corrective actions to maintain project performance objectives.
– Negotiate and administer subcontracts and purchase agreements.
– Evaluate subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
– Coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain schedule and quality standards.
– Promote strong vendor relationships to support long-term procurement strategy.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
– 2-5 years of progressive experience in civil or electrical construction.
– Demonstrated success managing infrastructure, utility, sitework, or energy projects.
– Proven ability to manage projects ranging from $5M to $100M+.
– Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
– Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary project teams.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam Revu, and construction management software.
– Valid driver’s license required.
