Fall Internship – Data Management and Research Assistant – Part-Time
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid) – must be able to commute to Reston, VA
Hours: Hours can vary depending on the student’s current workload and schedule. We are targeting 10-20 hours per week, but we offer flexibility in terms of which hours of the day are worked and the balance between in-office and remote work.
Compensation: $15/hr – 18/hr depending on grade level and experience.

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team in Reston, VA. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data entry, project management, research assistance, document preparation, and site visit coordination. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to develop their skills in a professional environment.
Job Duties: This position supports a combination of the duties below to include our Project Development, our marketing, and research teams as needed.
Data Entry and Management:
- Input project data into company databases.
- Maintain and update records of ongoing projects.
- Organize project documentation and files.
Research Assistance:
- Conduct preliminary research on potential project sites.
- Gather data on solar energy policies and incentives.
- Compile information on competitors and market trends.
Document Prep and Quality Control:
- Draft basic reports, project summaries, and marketing content.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Format and proofread documents for accuracy.
Site Visit Coordination:
- Assist in the coordination of site visits, including travel arrangements and permits.
- Prepare necessary documentation for site visits.
- Coordinate with personnel for visit schedules.
Basic Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in the creation of simple data visualizations and charts.
- Summarize findings in reports for senior team members.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of data visualization tools is a plus.
