Mock Interview Programs

Mock Interview Programs are an excellent way to introduce sophomores, juniors, and especially seniors to the job, internship, fellowship, and graduate school interview process. These programs are fully administered by the Center for Career Development in partnership with the student, providing a realistic opportunity to practice interviewing skills in a supportive environment before participating in actual selection processes.

We encourage instructors to incorporate mock interviews into their coursework by requiring students to submit both their interview feedback form, provided by our office, and a brief reflection on their experience. This approach helps students connect classroom learning with professional development while fostering self-awareness and confidence.

Every student will interview at some point in their academic or professional journey. With many organizations now beginning the hiring process through virtual interviews, early exposure to interview expectations and best practices can provide a significant advantage. Mock interviews help students develop communication skills, learn how to articulate their experiences and qualifications, and gain valuable insight into the interview process.

Consider incorporating a Mock Interview Program into your course when appropriate. Together, we can help students build the confidence, professionalism, and career readiness skills needed for success after graduation. Contact Georgina Bliss at gbliss2@washcoll.edu.
